If Comment Section is Invisible

Of course, I’m not a web developer who creates my website from scratch to completion, yes, before CMS era, I did it. Creating my website from scratch with HTML and uploaded it on Geocities 😉

Then, created websites with HTML, CSS and Action Script Flash. Awwww, I feel so old !!! And, since the appearance of CMS website, using WordPress.org, Joomla or Drupal, there are web developer who works behind the themes I use both for me or clients, but … It doesn’t mean we can use it like using free website builder, drag here and there, basic and standard layout.

We, web designer still need to customize the theme we install, modification, and sometimes, or often… theme you use doesn’t compatible with your PHP hosting, or just not working. And, you need to tweak them.

For instance, I love my website theme. It suits my necessity as a travel blogger and Multimedia designer from the layout. However, my way to make it work, it’s not as smooth as I expected. Comment section on WordPress theme I’m using appeared to be not working.

So, how to make it appear?? Yeah, I know basic scripting language, I know basic PHP and very familiar with HTML. It’s easy, ask google and this digital god, most of the time, always has the answer. Amen!!

If comment section doesn’t appear on your blog or website, here’s the step you can do;

1.Go to your WP Dashboard

2.Appearance > Editor

3. Find single.php and page.php pages, Oh ya,.. please back up the original code first before you tweak them, based on my experience, it can’t be CTRL-Z.

4. Add this script <?php comments_template(); ?>  on your single.php script.  And do the same thing for page.php script.

To make it more clear.

<?php get_header(); ?>
<?php get_template_part('includes/breadcrumbs', 'index'); ?>
<div id="content-area" class="clearfix">
<div id="left-area">
<?php get_template_part('loop', 'single'); ?>
</div> <!-- end #left_area -->

<?php get_sidebar(); ?>
<?php comments_template();     <<< HERE
</div> <!-- end #content-area -->

<?php get_footer(); ?>

It’s easy, right ….
